No School - January 18, 2021

PTA membership meeting

Our next PTA meeting will be held virtually on Thursday, February 11th at 7:30 pm. If you wish to attend, please make sure to review the information on the invitation here and register here prior to the scheduled meeting. Only current PTA members can attend the meeting but it is never too late to join.

Author Visit- Rescheduled

Due to unforeseen reasons, we had to reschedule the author visit to February 23.

Marci is a children's book author and will be "visiting" our school virtually. Author visits are usually done in person but this year, because of Covid-19 restrictions and to accommodate our at-home learners we will be doing it via zoom. Marci Peschke has written many books and most of you will recognize her for being the author of Kylie Jean Books. She also wrote the "Growing Up Daisy" series as well as Dead Man's Map.

As always, students will be able to get books autographed however, only new books purchased through the PTA will be signed. This is a covid-19 protocol to avoid any extra contacts.

Keep Calm and Get Your Cupid On!

Valentine's Day is right around the corner and students will be able to participate in the valentine's exchange, with a few Covid-19 restrictions. Please pay attention to the dates and procedures listed below.

1. Valentines MUST be store-bought or pre-wrapped. No homemade goodies.

2. Valentines will sit at school for 3 days before the students are able to take them home on February 12th.

3. Valentines must be taken to school by your student on February 8th or no later than February 9th.

A special program is coming our ways in March!

Your PTA is working with the school counselor, Ms. Balch to sponsor an exciting program for our students! Matt Wilhelm will be performing virtually for us in March. For those who don't know him, you are in for a treat. Here are a few of his accomplishments:

We encourage our students and teachers to send him questions while on video. He will as many features as many as possible during his presentation. It’s super easy! You record the video from your phone and upload here.

The deadline for submitting videos is Friday, February 26th. Here are tips on recording your video and recommended questions to ask Matt!

College and Career week

Blazers are invited to participate in the following dress-up days to celebrate and bring awareness to options beyond high school:

Wednesday – "Dress for Success" wear something to represent your future career.
Thursday – "College Spirit" wear or colors
Friday – "Allen Eagle Spirit" wear or colors

Please remember that participation is ALWAYS optional. There is no need to run out and buy anything special for your student to join in. The College and Career activities and discussions that Ms. Balch will be initiating are for all students!
