Our Amazing Bolin Staff!
October 2026 Teacher of the Month

Laura Pecina

Join us in celebrating Mrs. Pecina! Here are the kind words shared in the nominations...

"She is so comforting for the students and the kids as they join Bolin."

"She has given my child confidence even though he has grown out of her class. He still likes to visit her because she made a big impact."

"Oh she is amazing! Both of my girls had her for kindergarten and the amount of patience she exudes allowed for them to have such wonderful years. Although she’s tough, she teaches with the utmost compassion. I may be biased as she’s the first teacher we met as Bolin parents but I truly know she deserves all the accolades."

"I think Mrs Pecina should be teacher of the month because she is nice and sweet. She make learning very fun."

Money Matters

The PTA raises funds through membership dues, spirit wear sales, business sponsorships, donations, and other sources. While these funds are essential for supporting our annual programs and events—such as the Glow Party, Teacher Appreciation Week, and other student and staff activities—they do not fully cover all of the associated costs.

To help bridge that gap, the PTA organizes fundraisers throughout the school year. Most of these fundraisers support the PTA's general operating needs, allowing us to continue providing enriching events and programs for our school community. Occasionally, the PTA also holds targeted fundraisers to help purchase specific high-cost items requested by the school or teachers that directly benefit our students.

Upcoming Opportunity to give Feedback!

We are thrilled to be introducing the National PTA School of Excellence program at Bolin! This year-long program is a collaboration between the PTA, the campus, and parents. It is all about strengthening the connection between families and the school.

How Does It Work?

1. We will send out a survey on Oct 28th to gather feedback from families about how things are going at Bolin.

2. The survey will show what the school's strengths are and what families see as an area for improvement.

3. The program’s Excellence Committee will select an area to focus on and develop a plan to create change on campus.

4. We will carry out the plan from November through April and then gather more feedback at the end of the school year

Why Should We Do It?

● School of Excellence standards for family-school partnerships embrace welcoming families, communicating effectively, supporting student success, speaking up for every child, sharing power, and collaborating with the community.

● Our campus & PTA support these ideas and want to show our commitment to working towards them.

● Teamwork! By focusing on the standards above, we can elevate the experience our students and families have at Bolin.
